Background and Experience:

Lesley-Rose has experience working with a diverse population of clients with various backgrounds including gender, age, religion, and ethnicity. Specifically she has worked with individuals, couples, teens, and children with a primary focus on adolescents, young, and older adults. Additionally, she has gained clinical experience through her graduate work in a community mental health setting and integrated behavioral healthcare setting at a pediatric clinic. Through these experiences, she has found a passion for serving her community by promoting mental health wellbeing and providing support and tools for individuals to live with and lessen their pain and struggle.

Special Interests and Services:

Lesley-Rose is a first generation immigrant from Kenya and moved to the United States in 2008. Moving to brand new country at the age of twelve, Lesley-Rose has had the influential experience of a collectivist cultural upbringing, and a more independent, individualistic culture. These cultural experiences have created a world that has allowed Lesley-Rose to integrate values from various backgrounds, and she aims to help her clients do the same.

Lesley-Rose believes that the bridge in therapy is supported through a strong therapeutic alliance, relational understanding, and paved with intentional collaboration between the client and therapist. Her approach and orientation is rooted in and viewed through the prism of attachment and development of adaptive behaviors. To help her clients find their breakthrough, she draws from various theoretical orientations and approaches including attachment science, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT).

Building on a strong therapeutic alliance using a person-centered foundation, Lesley-Rose expresses her attunement to each client’s needs and works together to make new connections and build new tools for learning and healing.
